3's a Crowd

Well, in a bathtub it is. Although, once Casey can sit up on his own, we won't need the bath sling for him anymore, so that will free up some space. But then, he'll be bigger. And mobile. And then we'll have three kids splashing water all over the place. Fun, fun! No, really, it is! For me anyway because I rarely give the kids their bath. Chris does it 99% of the time.

--------------------------------------

We were over at Chris' grandparent's house last night and their dog peed on the floor. Isabelle, with a straight face not trying to be funny at all, said "Frosty pees in the house." Maybe you had to be there, but I thought it was pretty funny.

--------------------------------------

Speaking of Frosty, that poor dog's ears stick straight up. Both of them now. *sigh*

Hard to believe this little one is 5 months old today. He's growing up too quickly!

Boppy...not just for babies anymore!

Sorry to worry some of you (ahem, Lauren), but we are all just fine. If you want someone to blame for my lack of blogging, you can point your finger at Chris. He bought my WoW (World of Warcraft) for our anniversary last month (romantic, I know *grin*) because he plays that game. For those of you that have never heard of it, it is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game, or MMORPG for short. We used to play Everquest, another type of MMORPG, when we were dating and would stay up real late chatting with each other while playing. Chris has been playing WoW for a few months now and I never joined because I didn't like the graphics. Too cartoonish for me. But, after receiving it as a gift, I gave it a shot and now I'm hooked. So, that is where I've been during the evenings after the kids are in bed. He's raiding with a group right now, so I thought I'd try and catch up a little bit while I have the chance. And now, on with the posting!

-------------------------------------------------------

Isabelle is definitely starting to follow in our footsteps with our love for computers. During the afternoon when Grahm and Casey are napping, Isabelle can be found in the basement playing on my computer. She loves the Sesame Street games on PBS. And I'm really quite impressed with how well she does. Not only with maneuvering the mouse, but also with the matching and whatnot. She usually only plays for a half hour and then she's off playing with toys or watching Tom and Jerry on t.v. (the old classics, not the new ones). I told Chris he needs to set up an old computer for Belle so that I can have mine back, but she told me that she only wants to play on mine. I guess I need to learn to share. Oh, and please ignore the messy desk. It's only half as bad now. Cleaning my desk obviously isn't a huge priority for me. I think there are times when Chris just looks at it and wants to throw all of it away so that it's clean. At least the rest of the house is clean most of the time. Okay, some of the time. Fine, fine, hardly ever. But I did vaccuum today!

---------------------------------------------------------

Frosty has taken up a love for Isabelle's Grahm's Casey's boppy. When it's laying on the floor and Casey isn't using it, she often curls right up in it. Oh, and notice her ears? One of them always sticks up and her other one is starting to stick up as well now. I thought it was so cute when they stopped cropping schnauzers ears because of the way they flopped down. Why on earth her ears are not staying down is beyond me. Hopefully she'll grow into her giant ears. *grin*

----------------------------------------------------------

Casey is still a super happy baby. He smiles 99.9% of the time.

He is holding his head up really well and rolls over every once in a great-while from his back to his stomach.

He absolutely loves looking at himself in the mirror now. He was giving himself the cutest faces the other day.

He's taking after his daddy and sucking on his two fingers. He still mostly sucks on his thumb, but every once in a while you'll find him with two fingers in his mouth, just like Chris did up until kindergarten. Or was it longer?

We started him on solid food this week. Runny rice cereal. Yummy! He ate it like a champ and even seemed to like it. Not once did he make a gagging face. Of course, I'm sure that will change when he gets his first taste of green beans! I remember Isabelle's face when she first tried them. She absolutely hated them! Who knew that 3 years later she would love them and would be the first thing she would eat. Even when a cookie is sitting right next to them on her plate! Funny thing is, Grahm is the same way too. I cannot tell you how amazed I was when I saw them do that. Of course, as soon as the beans were gone, they then went on to eat the cookie and then the chicken.

---------------------------------------------------

Isabelle and Grahm often play "naptime" at various times during the day. They get out a blanket or two or three and throw some pillows on the floor in the bedroom (or living room. Or hallway.) and pretend to nap. It usually only lasts 10 seconds or so, but then they are back at it again 20 seconds later. They do this repeatedly for a couple minutes. Why, I have no idea. It's cute, but I just don't get it. But, if they think it's fun, let them "nap"!

---------------------------------------------------

Well, that's about all I have for now. I hope to have a video of Grahm tomorrow if he'll cooperate with me this time. And if I'm not playing my game tomorrow to have time to post it.

The artistic talents of Miss Isabelle

Uncle Big Tom, sporting his red clown nose. Oh, and if the teeth frighten you, they are quite an improvement compared to this picture from a few months ago. Or, maybe Isabelle just thinks Uncle Tom has big teeth. :)
